Sales info

Thanks so much for your interest in our LaMancha herd. We have tried to include all pertinent information on each doe but if you have any questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to give us a call.  A health certificate (certificate of veterinary inspection is usually $30)  as well as any additional health tests and shipping costs including a carrier are the responsibility of the buyer and must be paid prior to shipping. We charge an additional $50 delivery fee to the airport as we ship out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport which is a 7+ hour round trip.

Kids are raised on a strict CAE-prevention program and have been since 1988. Our herd was tested negative for CAE in the past but we will continue to raise our kids on heat-treated colostrum and pasteurized goat's milk. Our most current CAE herd test was in September 2009 and was negative.

Kids receive free choice alfalfa-mix hay and water as well as a starter grain with a coccidiastat in it. We are on a regular vaccination program using Triangle 9 as well as Essential 3+T and Case-Bac vaccines. Animals receive annual BoSe shots and are wormed as needed. We feed a 17% mixed grain ration to the milking herd. Free choice salt and minerals are available to all.

2010 was a year of great change for our family. Late in 2009 our son Kevin returned safely from a year's deployment in Afghanistan with the WI 951st National Guard Sapper Unit. We thank God for his safe return. Plans to attend the ADGA National show were put on hold when, in April, we received an offer from a neighbor to buy our farm. We decided it was not something we could turn down and luckily we were able to find something smaller just 4 miles away. The only drawback was that we had to totally renovate the existing barn....thus we skipped the National Show hoping to get settled before linear appraisal this year. Our does this year decided again to give us a "buck year" for the second year in a row and thus we added some very special doe kids from select herds to our line-up. Our new farm became ready (kind of ready!!) just one week before linear appraisal but we continue to do the finish work before our Northern WI winter sets in.

This year we attended our club's early summer show and were thrilled with the results. We had the GCH Jr. & BJDIS (Cassie), RGCH Jr. (Maggie), GCH Sr., BOB, BUOB (Kricket), RGCH Sr. (Tiva), RGCH Buck (Wildfire) in Ring 1. In Ring 2 we had the GCH Jr. & BJDIS (Peppermint Patty), RGCH Jr. (Wind Dancer), GCH Sr./BOB/BUOB (Prue), RGCH Sr. (Josie), , GCH Buck & BBIS (Wildfire). This show finished both Kricket and Wildfire and we look forward to another fuzzy show in September.  We were very happy with our placings at this early show. Linear appraisal added 2 more EX does to our herd with Kricket appraising 90 (VEEE) and Prue 91 (EEEE).

We ask for a $100 deposit to reserve kids. This is non-refundable if you cancel your order. If the kid you have chosen is not born or is not acceptable for us to sell, we will refund your deposit or allow you to choose another kid. While we will accept a deposit on a buck kid out of a first freshener, we will make the final decision on that sale after the doe has freshened. We will contact you as soon as possible after your kid is born and prefer that you pick it up or make arrangements for shipping within one month, unless prior arrangements have been made. If you plan to have your kid shipped by air, please make arrangements to send a 300 or 400 airline approved carrier as soon as you are notified. The balance of the payment is expected within 2 weeks after the birth of the kid or it will be offered to someone else. We prefer your final payment is made by money order. As always, we reserve the right to retain any kid born on the farm so please indicate a 2nd and 3rd choice kid when you send your deposit. If you anticipate longer than a 4 week wait to pick up your animal, it must be paid in full and boarding will be charged after 4 weeks.

We normally plan to retain a first kid out of the majority of our does unless we are contacted about them. Please feel free to email us if you see a particular kid you want. Prices for kids are listed on each doe's page . Only a limited amount of doe kids will be offered for sale this year and buck kids will only be retained if pre-ordered. Please contact us early.

In order to maintain our herd size, we will have a large group of milking yearlings and/or 2 year olds for sale this spring. Mature animals must be picked up at the farm. Contact us for additional info and prices or to reserve a mature doe. Mature does must be paid in full at time of reservation.
