When we purchased Shoof in
December 2023 we knew she had been AI bred to 2 different bucks and knew
there was a chance she had settled to Monsoon but Laurie felt it was a
slim chance so we were thrilled when the DNA came back on Quake and
his sister, Tempest, that they actually WERE Monsoon kids...not bad for
one straw of very old semen!!
Tempest & Quake were our last kids born so they are both very immature.
Quake excels in general appearance being long and level over his topline, smoothly
blended through his shoulders and stands on outstanding feet and legs.
We also see very nice width of chest and width of escutcheon. . While we
appreciate the width and correctness of mammary in her dam, we would
like to see smaller teats and more width through her hips. We also feel
that Quake shows an improvement in levelness of topline over his dam
especially over his rump.
With his dam's lovely mammary
and Monsoon's history of improving mammaries we would expect this buck
to improve udders and he should breed tall, leggy daughters. He will be
used on a limited basis this fall due to his young age. |
