KitKat was a very
exciting birthday present for me this year. She is especially precious
as her dam was injured soon after kidding so her show future is pretty
much over.
Kitkat is a very stylish doe excelling, like the other Jax daughters, in
general appearance. She is level ove rher topline, smoothly blending and
stands on outstanding feet and legs. Kitkat has a truly impressive
escutcheon width and arch. While she was not shown, it is not her
fault....since I chair the show, I knew I had to limit the amount of
animals I took to show. As this doe continues to mature, I am regretting
that decision made in the heat of exhaustion. This doe should have had
her chance to shine as did her paternal sisters. I have no doubt she
would have made us proud.
Kitkat's dam has a lovely and correct mammary. She suffered a spinal
injury not long after a hard kidding and it has affected her topline and
her stance. She seems to be doing well and will continue to be a part of
our herd for her brood doe potential and as the only daughter of our
beloved Snickers.
Kitkat has big hooves to fill with her amazing granddam, Snickers.
She will most likely be bred for spring kidding but breeding plans are
tentative at this point. |
